that looks
like you.

Aesthetic dentistry, executed at a specialty level.
Soft. Elegant. Vital. Natural.

An Experience & Outcome Unlike Any Other

Guided by nature. Designed by hand.

Every veneer case begins the same way: A consultation where Dr. Schelkopf meets the patient to understand their goals, develop a vision, and coordinate a plan to achieve the ideal result. He then personally designs the blueprint for the case, with his style, clinical understanding, and aesthetic vision built into every detail of the case to ensure that the result is exceptional. Finally, Dr. Schelkopf brings vision to life, clinically delivering the care for the patient in a comfortable, efficient, and seamless manner.

Our Consistent, Precise Process

Comfortable. Efficient.
Seamless.

Almost all veneer cases are completed in two visits to Chicago, separated by approximately three weeks — coordinated around your travel cadence for your convenience.

Consultation

A virtual or in-person consultation to meet, understand your vision, and discuss the path forward. When you’re ready, we schedule your first visit and Dr. Schelkopf personally designs your case by hand.

Preparation & Design

This first visit is when we complete our evaluation, carefully plan all of the details of the case, and prepare the case and smile design. Our design is carefully crafted from pre-operative stages through the temporaries in order to clinically hone and confirm the perfect smile design and blueprint for the final ceramics.

Final Bonding

Temporaries removed. Final porcelain tried in, refined, and bonded permanently. Nearly every case is delivered on the first try-in. You leave the same day with the finished result.

Tailored to Your Smile

Aesthetic Options

Every smile is different. Dr. Schelkopf offers a range of conservative aesthetic approaches, personalized to the case — designed around the result, not the procedure.

Conservative Aesthetics

Veneers

The most conservative approach to improve the appearance of your teeth and smile. Hand-crafted with precision and our personal artistic style, our veneers unlock incredible potential for our patients and their beautiful smiles.

Function & Aesthetics

Vonlays

Vonlays are the ideal approach to functionally and aesthetically restoring teeth in a conservative manner. Vonlays are often used to restore patients that have worn their teeth down or habitually grind their teeth. With our advanced bonding techniques and modern material selection, vonlays are able to preserve about 90% of your tooth structure while improving your aesthetics, restoring your bite, and protecting your teeth from future damage.

Full Coverage

Crowns

Crowns are the traditional approach to restoring teeth that have had functional or health compromises. Crowns cover the teeth to fully restore all surfaces. In our practice, our crowns are made of the same material and fabrication method as our veneers and vonlays, optimizing the strength, fit, and aesthetic results of all of our cases.

Gummy Smiles

Gum Contouring

Gum contouring is a routine procedure that we provide to help patients with “gummy smiles” or concerns with their gum line. Often this is provided in conjunction with aesthetic restorative treatment, such as veneers, to optimize the final appearance of the patient’s resulting smile.

One-of-a-Kind Artistry

A process where uncertainty is eliminated.

Dr. Schelkopf’s exclusive teamwork with his master ceramist Hojin allows for a continuity in your care that delivers consistent, reliable results. Every detail of your care is intentional and carefully-considered. From the material selection and ceramic design, to the delivery of your clinical care, our decisions are rooted in clinical science, our personal experience, and our aesthetic expertise. This is the difference between a result that looks exceptional, not only on the day that it was delivered, but for years to come.

Your Smile should match who you are

Dr. Schelkopf does not label himself as “cosmetic dentist.” His work is not some cookie-cutter, one-size-fits-all approach. It is not the bulky, opaque, “piano key” smile where the teeth don’t fit the patient and everyone can tell you got veneers. If that look is what you are interested in, then there are plenty of other cosmetic dentists that will provide that for you. Instead, he and his ceramist have worked hard over the years to perfect an elegance and a natural-looking beauty that looks and feels like you.

Frequently Asked

Veneer questions.

How many visits does a veneer case take?
Most veneer cases are completed in two visits to Chicago, separated by approximately three weeks. The first is the design and preparation appointment; the second is the final bonding visit. Out-of-town patients fly home in their temporaries between visits.
How long do porcelain veneers last?
With proper design, materials, and care, porcelain veneers typically last well over a decade — many last twenty years or more. The single most important factor is the precision of the original work and the long-term care of the surrounding gum and bone.
Will my veneers look natural?
That is the entire goal. The Stuart aesthetic is soft, vital, and personal — restorations crafted to look like the natural smile the patient always wanted. Bulky, opaque, "Hollywood" veneers are not what we do.
Will it hurt? What about the preparation appointment?
Most patients describe an experience that includes no discomfort and is seamless. The preparation appointment is performed with local anesthetic so that you are comfortable throughout. Mild hypersensitivity, especially to cold liquids or foods, may be noticed in the day(s) following the delivery when the anesthetic wears off, but we employ techniques throughout your care to prevent and manage this. Our preparation and clinical work is conservative and minimal in order to maintain your own natural structures, protecting against irritation or discomfort.
Do you treat patients traveling from out of state?
Yes — most patients who come to Stuart fly in from out of state, and a portion travel internationally. The two-visit structure of most cases is designed around exactly this.
What are temporaries?
Every step in Dr. Schelkopf’s workflow builds on the previous step. The temporaries are built from your personalized case design and are a near-replica of the planned final result — precisely allowing a blueprint when crafting the design for the final ceramics. Dr. Schelkopf’s workflow is built on the “aim small, miss small” principle, which is what allows for such consistency in your care. We do not deliver a case unless it meets both your expectations and ours.
